Common questions about pet food and nutrition
Can I feed my pet human food?
Some human foods are safe in moderation, but many are not. Our guides list specific foods to avoid for each pet type, since what is safe for one species can be toxic for another.
How do I switch my pet to a new food?
A gradual transition over seven to ten days, slowly increasing the new food while decreasing the old one, helps avoid digestive upset. Sudden switches are the most common cause of stomach issues.
Do nutrition needs really differ that much between pets?
Yes. A rabbit's digestive system, for example, works completely differently to a cat's, so feeding advice has to be specific to the species rather than generic.
How often are new nutrition guides added?
New guides are published regularly across all five pet categories. Use the filters above to jump straight to the pet type you are researching.
